First off, I have no experience installing a backrest. I've done one seat recovering in my entire motorcycling career...and this was my second.
Start to finish, took 45 minutes. I watched the youtube install video for the DN-01 specifically and frankly, it was very easy to do.
The backrest to me adds a level of comfort needed. I'm not really a legs forward kinda rider. My previous focus was sportbikes, sport tourers, and the like. The backrest alleviates lower back pain well.
Well worth the $230 or so dollars. It's made very well, looks great, works at advertized and super easy to install.
It was easier to install than my puig windscreen. haha
