Religiously, up until this year, I've been using my DN-01 in Automatic mode. This year however, I tried some experiments with tank fulls, and was surprised by the results.
In Automatic mode I easily hit the 5 Liter / 100km.
So, starting in June, I tried the manual shift setting, Where I would shift up as soon as the bike would let me.
I found that I could change to 2nd at about 20 km/hr 3rd at 30 km/hr, 4th at 40 km/hr and 5th at about 45 km/hr. The bike wouldn't let me shift to 6th gear until 68 km/hr.
Doing this, I found that it was actually much more economical, in fact a savings of almost 20% in fuel registering close to 4 Liter/100 km.
Has anybody else compared or experimented with different shifting patterns?
