Buyers guide / common faults?

How many km on it, out of curiosity?
It has 56000.
New problem. I took it out for a 90km ride both ways. I put it in neutral half way there and wouldn't go back into drive. Turned the ignition off for 30 second, it worked. It went all good through two stops until I got back home. Did it again. There were no errors showing and the ride there and back was jerky from 80-110kmh.

I've learned to press and hold the D putton for a couple of seconds - try that.

Regarding ' jerky' this is a well documented characteristic of the HFT that when speeding up thru about 80kph you feel the the lockup clutch engsge or release when slowing. There's quite a good post about here somewhere. But it is only in the 80-85 speed range. lf you're feeling something at higher speeds, it's not the transmission. Go for another ride and take particular note of what's happening.

I'm so glad I read this after buying mine. I don't notice it speeding up but I was very aware of a sudden jerk slowing down through 50mph. Reading that it's just what it does is a weight off my mind, as someone who doesn't really know much about bikes.

I just tried uploading a video.
Yeah so, it is quite intermittent in doing this. After putting it in neutral, sometimes it just doesn't go into drive. The video shows longer than 10 seconds hold of the button to no result. It then started not registering the neutral the same way. Drive, stop, wait two seconds, select neutral and it doesn't go into neutral. Could it perhaps be the switch?

Yes, that's a possibility. Get some contact cleaner and give it a good spray while pressing one then the other and report back.
